A memorandum of understanding was signed between Baladi Poultry Company and the Saudi Agricultural Development Company to enhance the treatment of poultry farm waste and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of agricultural fertilizers.

The Saudi Agricultural Development Company INMA has renewed its membership in the Seed Producers Committee (Wheat) for the eighth five-year term, reaffirming its ongoing role in supporting the agricultural sector and enhancing food security.

The company was also honored to participate in the launch ceremony for the new identification identity for field and horticultural crops, organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, as part of national efforts to develop the agricultural sector and enhance the quality of agricultural products in the Kingdom.

As a pivotal milestone in the company’s journey following its legal transformation, the company launched a strategic plan aimed at achieving its long-term goals. This strategy provides clear direction for business operations, identifies the markets the company should target, and outlines the methods for effective market engagement. Consequently, the strategy equips the company with the necessary tools and approaches to enhance its competitiveness.

After conducting research and investing in all available aspects—technical (such as using modern technologies and advanced irrigation systems, specifically drip irrigation, to conserve water), human (by training all staff on the use and application of these techniques), and financial (through monetary investments aimed at pioneering advanced agricultural methods)—the complete transition to using a fixed drip irrigation system for the company’s potato crop was achieved.

As a leading company in applying the latest agricultural techniques and implementing the following technological practices:

• The latest water meters
• Satellite-based crop monitoring technologies
• Automated control (GPS system) in agricultural equipment
• Surveillance technologies and field practices using aircraft
• Modern irrigation systems and the applications of these technologies
• An integrated quality system for measuring product quality

The company was selected by the Saudi Snack Foods Company (Lezz) to serve as the smart farm in 2024.

The company was selected as one of the leading companies in using modern technologies for water conservation—a key practice in our agricultural technology efforts—to participate in the Saudi Alliance for Agricultural and Food Technologies. The first Saudi Alliance for Agricultural and Food Technologies was launched with the aim of building an integrated network to promote the dissemination of agricultural food technologies nationwide, in cooperation with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and the Research and Development Authority.

In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the National Center for Research and Development of Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah). The agreement aims to achieve leadership in the field of sustainable agricultural research and contribute to food security by empowering sustainable agriculture. This will be accomplished by fostering economic growth and enhancing food security through applied research, development, innovation, and the adoption of successful and effective agricultural applications.

The company participated in sharing its practical experience in the field, highlighting the impact of the Natural Resource Management Program on its diverse crops. The presentation included an overview of modern irrigation methods and the use of cutting-edge technologies and applications in the agricultural sector, showcasing best practices for sustainable and efficient farming.

The company is recognized as one of the first to take the initiative to install water meters on all its key equipment to measure the consumption of non-renewable groundwater.

In light of ongoing visits, research partnerships, and collaboration with all relevant entities, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), through a visit by members of the Center for Remote Sensing and Climate, reviewed the company’s operations and observed its vision and mission in practice. The visit confirmed that Inma is the first company in the Middle East to adopt the mobile drip irrigation system for its diverse range of crops.

Since the launch of the Water and Energy Program in 2004, the company has been committed to introducing modern irrigation systems in the Kingdom with the primary goal of conserving water and reducing consumption, ensuring the sustainability of natural resources for future generations.

The phase of shifting the company’s direction and launching the Irrigation Water Conservation Program marked a foundational milestone in what Inma has achieved today in applying modern water-saving technologies—a legacy we are always proud of.
